Defender wants to help Dons win promotion next season

MK Dons defender Mathias Kouo-Doumbe has pledged his future to the League One club by signing a new two-year contract. Kouo-Doumbe has been a regular performer for MK Dons since joining the club in 2009 and made 51 appearances last season. He was also voted the club's Players' Player of the Year and is now looking to help MK Dons win promotion to the Championship. Karl Robinson's side were beaten in the play-offs by Peterborough United last season and Kouo-Doumbe is eager to go one better in 2011/12. "After the season we had last year I am really excited to play again with the team, especially the way we're playing now and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and to doing a good job again," Kouo-Doumbe told the club's official website. "What we did last year was really good but this year we have to do better. "The most important year since I've been here was last year because of the way we were performing, everyone played with confidence and I think we can build on that."
