Kevin Nolan was keeping tight-lipped about Notts County's No 8 following their pre-season defeat to city rivals Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.
The Magpies boss is looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Sky Bet League Two season and handed a start to 'A Trialist' at Meadow Lane.
Despite County slipping to a 2-0 loss, Nolan was rewarded with an impressive performance by the triallist and, at full time, refused to reveal the player's identity.
"He's a good lad, we found out about him on Sunday when I went to watch the youngsters," Nolan told Sky Sports News.
"We spoke to him and he's come in. We've only had him for a couple of days, so we don't want anyone snatching him away from us.
"We want to have a really good look at him. I am going to try and keep him anonymous at the minute."
But despite Nolan's best efforts to keep the player's identity under wraps, Sky Sports News can reveal 'A Trialist' to be Gibraltar midfielder Liam Walker.
The 29-year-old, who has previously spent a season at Portsmouth, currently plays for Gibraltar Premier Division side Europa FC.
He has been capped 22 times by Gibraltar and scored a superb strike in a 4-1 defeat to Greece last September.
