Alloa are looking for a new manager after Danny Lennon quit on Monday following just eight months in the job.

The former St Mirren boss took over in April and helped the Scottish Championship side avoid relegation by winning four of their final eight matches last season.

Alloa have struggled this term, however, and after a win at Brora Rangers in the first round of the Challenge Cup in July, have won just once in 18 games.

Alloa lie six points adrift at the bottom of Scotland's second tier and have lost their last seven games, most recently 2-0 at home to Dumbarton last Saturday. They face the Sons again in the Scottish Cup on Tuesday evening having won just two of the last 18 meetings between the sides.

Lennon, the third Alloa manager in a row to have quit following a defeat to Dumbarton, said: "Football is a results-driven business and I'm the first to hold my hands up and say our results this season have not been good enough.

"I take full responsibility. Sometimes freshening things up can be the catalyst to turn a season around."
