Hamilton defender Jesus Garcia Tena is set to miss most of the season with a knee ligament injury.

The 25-year-old was hurt in the Betfred Cup tie against Ayr United on the opening day of the 2016-17 season and Hamilton have confirmed he will miss at least six months.

Tena will have an operation next week.

Accies player manager Martin Canning: "It is a big blow to lose a player of Jesus' technical ability so early in the season.
