Kilmarnock have signed striker Nathan Tyson on a contract to the end of the 2016-17 season.

The 34-year-old had been without a club since the end of last season, when he left Doncaster Rovers after two years.

Tyson had spent time on trial with Sky Bet League One side Port Vale and was also linked with Carlisle United from League Two, but he has instead opted to sign for the Scottish Premiership outfit.

He said: "I'm very excited to face a new challenge as I've never had the opportunity to play top flight football. When the chance came I couldn't say 'no', so I jumped at it."

He scored 21 goals in 80 games for Doncaster before exercising a release clause in his contract after their relegation to League Two.
