Celtic will meet Rangers in another Old Firm derby after the pair were drawn together in the Betfred Cup semi-finals.
Rangers were humiliated in a 5-1 defeat to Celtic in the first league meeting between the sides in four years on September 10, but Mark Warburton's side will now have the chance to exact revenge in the final four of the League Cup on the weekend of October 22.
Morton will play Aberdeen in the competition's other tie after the Dons secured a late win over St Johnstone on Thursday night thanks to a 90th minute winner from substitute Adam Rooney.
Martyn Waghorn scored a hat-trick as Rangers cruised into the semi-finals of the Betfred Cup with a 5-0 win over Queen of the South on Tuesday night, while Morton booked their last-four tie by beating Dundee United 2-1.
Old Firm scenes 'unacceptable'
Stewart Regan said behaviour of certain fans at the Old Firm derby was "not acceptable"
Joey Barton could be back in contention for the Old Firm cup tie after serving his current three-week suspension following a blazing row with Rangers boss Warburton.
Celtic should be able to call upon Leigh Griffiths once again for the clash next month after injury, though after Moussa Dembele's hat-trick in the first Old Firm derby of the season Brendan Rodgers admitted he is under no pressure to change his team.
