Rangers swept into the last eight of the Scottish League Cup, and a date with Partick Thistle, with a morale-boosting 6-0 win against Dunfermline at Ibrox.
Kenny Miller put Rangers in front after five minutes before former Porto defender Bruno Alves scored his first Rangers goal with a ninth-minute free-kick.
Dunfermline had not won in their last 37 visits to Ibrox - a run stretching back to April 1972 - but almost pulled one back but Declan McManus' saw his powerful free-kick come back off the bar.
Any hope that might have sparked a revival were swiftly dashed as Alfredo Morelos (23) scored with a neat finish and an overlapping James Tavernier (27) bagged Rangers' fourth.
Daniel Candeias then scored from a free-kick in the 57th minute before Morelos (75) scored his second of the night after Tavernier's effort was parried by Sean Murdoch to round off a highly satisfactory night for Pedro Caixinha's men.
On Tayside, Dundee emerged victorious against Dundee United, and booked a last eight date with holders Celtic, courtesy of a fine strike from Faissal El Bakhtaoui and Paul McGowan's first-time finish. Billy King had earlier levelled for United against the run of play.
At Hamilton, Aberdeen and Accies locked horns for the second time in four days and again it was the Dons who prevailed, thanks to Kenny Mclean's first goal of the season.
The reward for Derek McInnes' men is a trip to Motherwell in the quarter-finals after the Fir Park side prevailed by the odd goal in five in a thrilling contest at Ross County.
Gael Bigirimana put the visitors in front early in the second half only for Alex Schalk to level (65).
The visitors restored their advantage two minutes into extra-time through Chris Cadden but Craig Curran equalised from the penalty spot after 104 minutes. Charles Dunne saw red for handling the ball on the line in conceding the spot-kick but it did not hamper Well, who secured the win in the 112th minute thanks to Ross MacLean.
The other quarter-final will see Hibernian host Livingston
