Hamilton have signed striker Alexandre D'Acol from AEK Athens as well as bringing in defender Jamie Sendles-White.

D'Acol – who was born in Brazil but has Italian citizenship – has spent his whole senior career in Greek football after moving to Olympiakos as a teenager in 2004.

Having spent time on loan to Kerkyra, the 29-year-old later moved to Panionios before the first of two switches to Kallithea, which brought him a total of 38 goals in 75 appearances.

Sandwiched in between was a spell with Thrasyvoulos before his most recent transfer to AEK, where he netted 21 times in two seasons.

D'Acol's one-year deal did not go through in time for him to play in Hamilton's 2-1 League Cup defeat to Championship side Raith Rovers on Tuesday night.

Provided international clearance is obtained before the weekend, he could be in line to make his debut in Saturday's home league fixture against leaders Hearts.

Sendles-White, 21, was released by QPR in the summer having failed to make a first-team appearance.

He played eight times for Sky Bet League Two side Mansfield on loan last season.

Player-manager Martin Canning has now completed his work for the transfer window.

Canning wanted cover for the central defence given he has been struggling to overcome a calf problem and Michael Devlin could be out until November with an ankle injury.

Speaking about D'Acol, Canning said: "He will hopefully bring goals. He has a good goalscoring record in Greece and he can play as a number nine through the middle.

"He is also quite comfortable playing either side and in the number 10 role as well. He brings versatility and hopefully adds goals and quality to the top end of the pitch."
