Scott Brown reckons Celtic prodigy Karamoko Dembele is in the ideal place to maximise his potential.

The 13-year-old academy prospect shot to fame last week when he was handed his debut for Celtic's Under-20s side.

His brief substitute run-out against Hearts came to prominence via YouTube and other social media outlets earlier this week.

However, Hoops' skipper Brown is preaching caution after insisting the talented youngster needs time to develop.

Speaking at a Show Racism the Red Card event in Glasgow, Brown said: "Karamoko has been up training at Lennoxtown a couple of times.

"He looks the part but he's still got a little bit of development to go and I'm sure he'll be a good player and a prospect.

"But he's got a lot to learn as well, and with our gaffer that's here just now I'm sure he'll learn as much as he possibly can.

"Our youth academy is great with the young ones coming through and all they do is look after them and try to protect them as much as possible."

Brown also paid tribute to young left-back Kieran Tierney, who is reportedly being tracked by Manchester City and Arsenal.

Brown added: "Kieran has got his feet firmly on the floor. He's a nice, nice kid. He stays with his mum and dad and is just loving every single minute of playing for Celtic.

"He's been fantastic since he came into the team. I saw him come through the under-20s younger age groups and he was exceptional. He's taken his chance."
