Celtic have suffered an injury blow with the news that Kieran Tierney will be out of action for two months after suffering ankle ligament damage in training.

The 19-year-old has been in superb form this season for the Hoops and had been an ever-present in Brendan Rodgers' starting line-up before missing out on the midweek win over Ross County.

Tierney's injury means he will miss Saturday's top-of-the-table clash between Celtic and Aberdeen at Pittodrie, which is live on Sky Sports 5 HD from 11.30am.

He will also be forced to sit out Celtic's three remaining group games in the Champions League and Scotland's game against England next month.

Celtic face Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday in Germany then host Barcelona and finish off away to Manchester City.

The news will come as a blow to Scotland manager Gordon Strachan who is already without Hull City left back Andy Robertson due to a calf injury for the game against England.
