Celtic winger James Forrest is targeting more silverware after helping the Hoops claim their 100th major trophy.

Forrest scored Celtic's second goal in their 3-0 League Cup win over Aberdeen at Hampden Park on Sunday to continue his resurgence in form under Brendan Rodgers.

The Scotland international's future at Celtic Park looked to be in doubt towards the end of the last season after losing his place under former manager Ronny Deila.

But after regaining his place under Rodgers, Forrest signed a new three-year contract to remain at Celtic

And after his man-of-the-match performance at Hampden, Forrest said: "I never, ever wanted to leave. I got my chance to come out and say that when I did.

"I just want to keep playing with this club. It's a massive club and you win trophies, and I just want to keep doing that.

"It's been a great start to get the first medal in late November. We just need to keep going and keep doing what we are doing and keep pushing on.

But Derek McInnes has backed his players to bounce back from their disappointment.
