Moussa Dembele is back in light training as he continues his fight to be fit for the Scottish Cup final.

Celtic's top scorer has been out since injuring a hamstring during the semi-final win over Rangers, and the final against Aberdeen is now less than a fortnight away.

Dembele remains a doubt for Hampden Park, but Hoops assistant boss Chris Davies revealed on Tuesday the striker is on the mend and could return to full training next week.

Victory on May 27 would secure a treble for Davies and boss Brendan Rodgers in their first season in Parkhead, while just Partick and Hearts now stand between Celtic and an unbeaten league season.

And Davies is already targeting an improved performance in next season's Champions League after three points in a tough group stage this term.

"Celtic is one of the biggest clubs in the world and the big clubs in the world want to be a force in European football as well," he said.

Stuart Armstrong has been linked with a move away from Celtic

"There is obviously a reality that we can't compete with the very biggest clubs in Europe, I think we all know that, but I certainly think next season that we can make a bigger impact in Europe than we did this year.

"First you have to navigate your way through the qualification process and hopefully we can do that and once we get in there for sure we won't have a harder group and for sure we will be better individually and collectively than we were this year."
