James Forrest's late goal gave Celtic a 1-0 friendly win over Blau-Weiss Linz on Wednesday.

New signing Jonny Hayes started for Celtic in the first half as last season's Scottish Premiership winners started their pre-season campaign with a victory.

Brendan Rodgers' son Anton has joined Celtic on their training camp to maintain his fitness after leaving Swindon and the 24-year-old played for 45 minutes against the Austrian second-tier side.

Celtic dominated the first half, with Callum McGregor's effort tipped onto the bar, before Leigh Griffiths hit the woodwork again from the rebound.

Brendan Rodgers made 10 changes at the break, but Celtic struggled to break the deadlock as Scott Sinclair headed over Forrest's cross.

But Celtic got their goal six minutes from time through Forrest, who controlled Kieran Tierney's pass inside superbly before volleying home.

Celtic continue their tour of Austria against Rapid Vienna on Saturday.
