Celtic enquired into signing Oxford goalkeeper Simon Eastwood on Deadline Day, Sky Sports News understands.

The Scottish Premiership leaders went in search of an emergency option to cover the injured Craig Gordon and ended up signing Dundee's Scott Bain on loan in a double deal with Jack Hendry.

Gordon will be out for 12 weeks with a knee problem and Sky Sports News understands Celtic will review their goalkeeping options again in the summer when Bain returns to his parent club.

Oxford's Eastwood was also a target for Barnsley during the January transfer window but the League One Us did not want to sell any of their key players.

They also managed to keep Ryan Ledson out of the clutches of Championship side Preston following multiple bids.
