Rangers have completed the signing of winger Harry Forrester from Doncaster for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old, who has signed an initial six-month contract in Glasgow, has worked with Gers boss Mark Warburton before at both Watford and Brentford.

He was free to leave the Keepmoat Stadium after dropping out of Rovers boss Darren Ferguson's plans and underwent a medical at Rangers' Auchenhowie training base on Thursday.

The former Aston Villa youngster - who once knocked back a move to Dutch giants Ajax - has previous experience of playing in Scotland following an eight-game loan stint with Kilmarnock in 2010.

Rangers boss Mark Warburton spoke to Sky Sports News HQ about the January transfer window

He told rangers.co.uk: "This move huge for me. This is one of the biggest clubs in Europe and I am privileged to be here and privileged to put on the shirt, and I want now to show people what I can do on the field.

"It's only a six month deal as we speak, but hopefully I can get on the pitch and show everyone what I can do and we'll talk from there. Like I say, it's only six months but I want to be here a lot longer than just six months.

"This is not your average football club - it's a huge, huge club and it is an absolute honour to be signed here now, and hopefully I can give the fans something to scream about."

Earlier Warburton told Sky Sports News HQ: "I know Harry very well, I know him from Watford. We are working with Doncaster, who are being tremendous with us in that respect.

"Harry is in having a medical today and we will see how that one progresses.

"He has the quality on the pitch, that is very evident. Off the pitch he's a good lad and gets on well with the boys in the dressing room. He will add some quality to our squad."
