Former QPR defender Clint Hill will arrive in Glasgow on Friday as he closes in on a move to Rangers.

Sky Sports understands the 37-year-old is set to undergo a medical at Murray Park with a view to signing a one-year deal.

Hill is currently a free agent after being released by QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink last month following six years at Loftus Road. 

Rangers manager Mark Warburton is keen to strengthen his squad ahead of their first season in the Scottish Premiership and the signing of Hill would be his fifth acquisition of the summer.

If he completes his switch, Hill will team up with former QPR colleague Joey Barton and could be joined by another former Rs midfielder, with Croatian Niko Kranjcar also reported to be close to agreeing terms with the Ibrox club. giants.
