Kenny Miller is not in the running to be Rangers assistant manager, with the veteran striker insisting he still has plenty to give as a player at Ibrox.
The 37-year-old has been linked with the role following the appointment of new boss Pedro Caixinha, who is assessing potential candidates for the job.
But the Gers striker is keen to continue playing after the end of the season, when his Ibrox contract is due to expire.
Caixinha, who confirmed goalkeeping coach Jim Stewart has left the club, spoke to vice-captain Miller along with skipper Lee Wallace and Andy Halliday in a meeting with senior players.
And the Portuguese revealed: "Kenny spoke to me and told me something I already knew; that he was doing something part-time with the Under-20s.
"Okay, perfect, all the time that is not colliding with our work, I am very glad that you keep doing that work. But I also know that he wants to still play.
"We have a list of candidates (to be assistant boss). We are going to have someone that can give me that knowledge, someone that is really linked with the history and tradition of this club and how big it is to represent this club."
Former Scotland international Miller is in his third spell at Rangers and has scored nine goals this season.
"My focus is firmly on being a player for as long as I can," Miller said.
"I don't feel ready to hang the boots up yet. I still feel like I have a lot to offer on the field at the moment.
"As long as I'm performing and contributing, which I feel I am at the moment, I still want to be considered a player first."
