Rangers striker Kenny Miller is urging his team-mates to come back fighting in their final four fixtures this season, following their 5-1 Glasgow derby thrashing by Celtic at Ibrox on Saturday.

Scott Sinclair gave the Hoops an early lead when he converted a seven-minute spot-kick before Leigh Griffiths doubled the visitors' advantage 11 minutes later.

Goals from Callum McGregor, Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig followed after the break to ensure the Scottish Premiership champions remain on course for an unbeaten season as they beat Rangers for the second time in week after defeating them 2-0 in the Scottish Cup semi-final just six days previous.

A second-place finish looks out of reach for Rangers, who trail Aberdeen by nine points with a considerably inferior goal-difference, but Miller says his side must dust themselves down when they visit Partick Thistle on Sunday in their fourth consecutive Glasgow derby.

"It will be right down to work on Tuesday looking towards next weekend's game because after two results like that there needs to be a reaction, and a positive reaction," the striker, who scored Rangers' only goal on Saturday, told the club's TV station.

"There's no point walking about with your head down feeling sorry for yourself. It's about winning games of football again, getting back to putting in positive performances and positive results and ultimately winning matches of football. That is what this club is built on."

The 37-year-old admitted the team have fallen short in their quest for league and competition success this season, adding: "It's not going to be a successful season in terms of winning trophies, but it's something we need to address and make sure next year we are definitely more equipped to put up a better fight."
