Greg Docherty joins Rangers from Hamilton Academical

Rangers have signed Greg Docherty from Hamilton Academical on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

The 21-year-old midfielder joins the club for an undisclosed fee after three goals and six assists in 25 appearances for the Accies this season.

Sky Sports News understands the fee for Docherty, a lifelong Rangers fan, is in the region of £600,000.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty is looking forward to working with the Scotland U21 international.

"It's another bit of business for another young, hungry player desperate to enhance our group," he said.

Docherty came through the ranks at New Douglas Park, making his debut in 2013 at the age of 17, and was part of the Hamilton side that beat Rangers 2-0 at Ibrox in November.
