Graeme Murty insists there are no problems with QPR after he revealed Sean Goss was one of the players the club were interested in permanently signing.

Graeme Murty insists relations with QPR are good following recent controversy after his comments about on-loan midfielder Sean Goss.

QPR boss Ian Holloway hit out at Murty this week after he revealed Goss was one of the players the club were interested in permanently signing.

Holloway labelled Murty "out of order" for speaking about a player owned by the Loftus Road club, though the Rangers boss has quickly moved to calm the situation.

"I was asked a question about Sean and I said he was doing particularly well," said Murty, who watched Goss score his second goal for the club with a free-kick during Tuesday's 4-1 victory over St Johnstone.

"He's bedded in nicely and understands what it means to play for Rangers."

Murty revealed director of football Mark Allen had contacted his counterpart Les Ferdinand at Loftus Road, to outline the respect Rangers have for QPR's position.

"Sean is a QPR player - I said that from the outset. I've always said that," Murty added.

"If he becomes available that will be a discussion. But as far as I understand it, Les has said he's not for sale.

"All we can say it's been a positive for all parties. He's showing what he can do and we're benefiting from that.

"Mark Allen has spoken to Les and reiterated our position and what I actually said about Sean. We're comfortable with the situation.

"It won't be down to us what happens next. It will be down to his parent club and the young man himself."

Goss joined Rangers on a six-month loan deal from the Championship side in January, and his strong form has helped the Glasgow team to mount a title challenge.

Rangers currently find themselves six points behind table-toppers and rivals Celtic, who have played a game fewer at this stage of the campaign.
