Hibs boss Neil Lennon feels his goal celebration against Rangers was blown out of proportion but did admit he went over the top

Hibernian manager Neil Lennon says the reaction to his touchline celebration in the win against Rangers at Ibrox was "over the top".

Police will take no action against Lennon following complaints about his behaviour during Hibs' 3-2 victory.

The former Celtic boss celebrated his side's first goal by briefly cupping his ears and raising his fist in the direction of Rangers fans behind the dugout.

The Scottish Football Association are still investigating the incident despite criminal charges being dropped.

Lennon said: "It was completely over the top. When it comes to me and Ibrox it does get blown out of proportion. It made front page news and I don't think it warrants that.

"We move on, the police felt there were no criminal charges which I tend to agree with."

Lennon has a two-game suspended ban hanging over him following a touchline clash with Morton manager Jim Duffy last season. The ban would be triggered if Lennon was found guilty of misconduct before the end of the year.
