Alloa's Jim Goodwin rejects chance to speak to St Mirren over manager's job

Alloa manager Jim Goodwin has turned down the chance to talk to St Mirren about their managerial vacancy, Sky Sports News understands.
The Buddies, who secured promotion to the Scottish Premiership last month, are seeking a replacement for Jack Ross, who left the club to join Sunderland.
St Mirren approached Alloa for permission to speak to Goodwin but the 36-year-old, a former captain of the Paisley side, decided he did not want to enter discussions.
Goodwin, who also followed Ross into the manager's role at Alloa, helped guide the Wasps to promotion to the Championship this season.
He played more than 150 games for St Mirren before leaving for Alloa, initially as a player, in the summer of 2016.
Lambert won the Scottish Cup with St Mirren as a 17-year old in 1987, when he played alongside current chief executive Tony Fitzpatrick, and went on to make 227 appearances for the Paisley club.
Livingston boss David Hopkin, who is mulling over a new deal from his employers, is also understood to be of interest to the Buddies.
