Lyon's time at the Stade Gerland came to a disappointing end as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to surprise package Angers.

Les Gones' hopes of signing off in style ahead of their move to the Stade des Lumieres in January were ruined as the visitors moved back up to second place in Ligue 1 thanks to skipper Cheikh N'Doye's brace.

Caen dropped to third after Yacine Benzia scored for the second game in a week as Lille continued a mini turnaround.

Having gone six games without a win prior to the midweek victory against St Etienne, Les Dogues beat the high-flying hosts 2-1 as Andy Delort's goal proved a mere consolation.

Monaco are up to fourth after a 2-1 win in Bastia extended their run to just one Ligue 1 defeat in 11.

Two second-half goals from Lacina Traore proved enough to provide a first win in three for the principality side, despite conceding a late goal to Julien Romain.

Lorient ended a run of three winless games after Walid Mesloub's first goal of the season secured a 3-2 victory at Toulouse.

Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik opened the scoring for the hosts, but Lorient turned the game on its head when Benjamin Jeannot turned Maxime Barthelme's delivery beyond Alban Lafont before the same player struck again, just a minute later, with the help of an Issa Diop deflection and the post.

The scoring did not end there and Toulouse levelled when some great work from Zinedine Machach set up Wissam Ben Yedder, but Lorient rounded off an entertaining evening when Mesloub claimed all three points for his side.

Troyes' winless start to the season continued despite coming from behind to claim a point in a 1-1 draw at Reims, while John Tshibumbu scored for a second successive game as Ajaccio came from behind to draw 1-1 with out-of-form Nantes.
