Manchester United's Europa League opponents Saint-Etienne were forced to suspend ticket sales for their last-32 clash due to an unprecedented demand.
Tickets for the second round tie went on sale on Thursday morning but only a few hours later the French club announced sales were suspended until 9am on Friday.
Saint-Etienne admitted their staff could not deal with the "historic" numbers of fans who turned up to queue for tickets.
United and Saint-Etinne meet in the first leg of their tie at Old Trafford with the return leg played at the 42,0000 capacity Stade Geoffroy-Guichard a week later.
The tie will also see United's Paul Pogba come up against his brother Florentin, who plays as a defender for Saint-Etinne.
