Memphis Depay scored an incredible halfway line goal against Toulouse

Former Manchester United player Memphis Depay scored an incredible goal from the halfway line for Lyon in their 4-0 win over Toulouse.

Depay netted late on, his second of the game, as he received the ball just inside the Toulouse half before spinning away from a defender and launching the ball over goalkeeper Alban Lafont from inside the centre circle.

The Dutchman has now scored four times in his past three league outings, taking his goals tally to five following his arrival from United in January.

A fourth straight home win moved Lyon five points clear of Marseille with a game in hand in the race for an automatic Europa League qualification spot, while Toulouse saw their six-match unbeaten streak snapped.

Depay made the move to France for a fee that could rise to £21.7m after 18 months at Old Trafford, having been brought to United by previous manager Louis van Gaal.

He struggled for playing time under Jose Mourinho, who took over from Van Gaal last summer, having made only eight appearances this season.
