Ligue 1 round-up: Defeat for Lyon, Monaco held by Toulouse

Mehdi Zeffane broke Lyon's hearts with the winner on his return to his former club as Rennes held on to record their first away win of the season, a narrow 2-1 victory at Stade de Gerland.

The visitors took the lead through Pedro Henrique early on before Nabil Fekir levelled.

However, new signing Zeffane, who spent 12 years at Les Gones, won the match after 55 minutes to send his side fourth, while Hubert Fournier's men dropped to ninth.

Monaco came from behind to continue their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-1 draw at Toulouse.

Tongo Doumbia put Toulouse ahead after Danijel Subasic's error but Monaco hit back just after the hour mark through Thomas Lemar, who beat his man before dispatching a wonderful 20-yard effort into the corner for a share of the spoils.

Julien Palmieri grabbed two first-half goals as Bastia's impressive start to the season continued with a 3-0 win against Guingamp.

The 28-year-old needed just five minutes to make his mark on the game, converting a first Bastia corner beyond Jonas Lossl.

Palmieri added his and the hosts' second just before the break when he took down Floyd Ayite's delivery before beating Lossl once again.

And Bastia wrapped up all three points in added time when youngster Lassana Coulibaly benefited from some lapse defending to add a third for his team.

Nice got their season up and running with their first three-point haul thanks to a 2-1 win against Caen.

With the score level at the interval it was Nice who took control on 65 minutes when Hatem Ben Arfa superbly danced past three defenders before smashing an unstoppable shot under the bar.

Caen responded immediately, though, and Andy Delort beat the the Nice offside before netting from close range, beyond Moez Hassan.

Then, with less than quarter of an hour to play, Alassane Plea neatly plucked a long ball out of the air before sending Remy Vercoutre the wrong way to claim all three points for Nice.

Nantes kept a third straight clean sheet as their unbeaten start to the season continued with a 1-0 win against Reims.

The hosts largely dominated and could easily have broken the deadlock but Kolbeinn Sigthorsson fired over before Johnny Placide superbly denied Johan Audel.

Then, with just less than quarter of an hour to play, Nantes got their reward when Ermir Lenjani beat Placide from a tight angle after latching on to Audel's pass.

Defeat for Reims brought an end to their impressive start to the season following wins against Bordeaux and Marseille.

Cheikh Ndoye scored a first-half brace as Angers kept up their 100% start away from home with a 2-0 win at GFC Ajaccio.

The visitors' captain needed just two minutes to put his side in front when he headed Yohann Andreu's delivery beyond Clement Maury from close range.

Ndoye doubled his tally for the evening with just 20 minutes played, pouncing on Ferebory Dore's pass to inflict more misery on the hosts. And he could easily have had a hat-trick but his second-half header came back off a post as Angers saw out the three points.
