After already losing to Reims, Caen and Guingamp this season, Marseille avoided another bruising loss as they posted a 4-1 win over Bastia.

Benjamin Mendy put the home side in front with a classy goal after 15 minutes. Receiving the ball on the edge of the penalty area from a corner, he rapped a 25-yard left-footed strike in off the underside of the crossbar.

Romain Alessandrini bustled through for the second in the opening minute of the second half. Alessandrini then coolly slotted the third after 66 minutes and Michy Batshuayi poked in to make it 4-0 four minutes later.

Brandao got a consolation strike for Bastia in the 78th minute, but it was far too little too late.
