Marseille came from behind to draw 1-1 against Lyon in an ill-tempered game that was suspended for 20 minutes due to crowd trouble.

With the visitors leading 1-0 thanks to Alexandre Lacazette's first-half penalty, referee Ruddy Buquet was forced to order both sets of players down the tunnel shortly after the hour mark as missiles began to rain down from a section of the crowd.

Marseille, who had lost Romain Alessandrini to a red card following his 43rd minute challenge on former OM midfielder Mathieu Valbuena, returned first from the changing rooms, with Lyon following closely behind them only to wish they had not bothered as Karim Rekik nodded home a leveller.

Valbuena received a hostile welcome as home fans hung an effigy of him in the stands and he was on the end of a number of tough tackles.

He went close to giving Lyon the three points, but his right-footed volley went inches wide in the 90th minute.

St Etienne moved to within a point of leaders Paris Saint-Germain thanks to a comfortable 2-0 win over Nantes.

Jonathan Bamba's first goal for Les Verts set the hosts on their way and Robert Beric wrapped up all three points.

Monaco's shaky start to the season continued as Benjamin Moukandjo hit the winner for Lorient in a 3-2 victory at Stade Louis II.

The principality club, who remain without a home win after three attempts, were up against it when Didier Ibrahim N'Dong and Benjamin Jeannot put Lorient into a two-goal lead inside 20 minutes.

Almamy Toure and Thomas Lemar dragged Monaco back into the tie but Moukandjo's strike ultimately swung it in favour of Sylvain Ripoli's men.

Substitute Enzo Crivelli salvaged a late point for Bordeaux against 10-man Toulouse at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux.

Adrien Regattin's first-half strike looked to have sealed the win for the visitors, thus extending Bordeaux's sluggish start, but Crivelli struck from close range with only seconds remaining.
