Gerets hits out at Ribery

Galatasaray coach Erik Gerets has hit out at Frank Ribery.

Galatasaray coach Erik Gerets has hit out at Franck Ribery for turning his back on the club for Marseille.

Ribery ended a miserable spell in Turkey this week by signing a four-year deal with l'OM.

The move angered Gala, as they believed they had secured an option to turn his loan move from Metz into a permanent arrangement.

Ribery has defended his decision to move to Stade Velodrome, saying he was not paid in Turkey, but Gala coach Gerets has questioned the midfielder's actions.

"Every club goes through financial problems," said Gerets. "Ribery is a good player, but you have to question someone who has moved clubs five times in 18 months.

"Why is he constantly changing clubs? Why doesn't he want to stay?"

Gerets moved to Gala from German side Wolfsburg and is ready for the task ahead.

"I'm hungry for success, just like Galatasaray," he added. "My playing career was full of trophies and I want to experience the same in my coaching career."
