Manchester City defender Jason Denayer could join Marseille on loan for the season.

The French club signed Karim Rekik from City earlier this summer and are interested in borrowing the Belgium international too.

City's purchase of Nicolas Otamendi means Denayer drops further down the pecking order at the Etihad.

He is highly rated in his homeland and started Belgium's last two internationals against France and Wales.

Denayer, who spent last season on loan at Celtic, may have other options.

One Premier League club and a Turkish club are also interesting in a loan deal, according to Sky sources.

Denayer's agent told Sky Sports News HQ: "We have Man City's permission to find a club to take Jason on loan for a year. There are several clubs interested, and agreement will be reached soon."
