Zlatan Ibrahimovic is elated to have become Paris St Germain's all-time leading goalscorer but wants to achieve much more with the French giants.

The Sweden international scored twice in Sunday's Ligue 1 victory over Marseille, increasing his tally to 110 goals and in the process overtaking Pauleta as the record holder.

"It's always fantastic to beat a record but I'm not going to stop now," Ibrahimovic said. "I want to keep going and do even better.

"We are living in a great period for the club and we will do everything to continue and keep making history."

Ibrahimovic joined PSG in 2012 from AC Milan, and made his 137th appearance for the Parisians on Sunday.

Pauleta achieved his mark of 109 goals in 211 appearances over a five-year stint, but unlike Ibrahimovic, who has won three Ligue 1 titles with the club, the former Portugal star failed to win the championship.

Sunday's result, PSG's eighth consecutive victory over Marseille at the Parc des Princes, lifted the capital club five points clear of nearest rivals Angers.

"It wasn't an easy match," Ibrahimovic said.

"We were not disciplined enough. We were behind but we came back with two penalties.

"We had chances to kill the game off but a win is always important, especially against Marseille. I can't remember the last time we lost to them."

Ibrahimovic also received the praise of his team-mates for his scoring achievements.

"I am very proud of Zlatan's record," PSG defender Maxwell said. "He has made history everywhere he has played.

"He has done a great job here in Paris and this record shows how much he has helped us all. He deserves it."
