Antoine Griezmann scored twice as Atletico Madrid beat Las Palmas 3-0 on Sunday to remain top of La Liga.

Defender Filipe Luis sent Juanfran's pass into the far corner on 17 minutes to score his first goal since returning to Atletico from Chelsea before top scorer Griezmann finished off a through-ball from Koke to double the visitors' lead after 68 minutes.

The France forward made the most of another precise pass from the midfielder in the last minute to round off the victory.

The win was Atletico's fourth in a row in the league and puts a positive shine on a difficult week off the pitch after the club received a transfer ban from FIFA for the transfer of under-age players.

Atletico remain two points clear of Barcelona, who beat Athletic Bilbao 6-0, and four ahead of Real Madrid after their 5-1 win against Sporting Gijon.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Gary Neville's Valencia drew 2-2 with struggling Rayo Vallecano and Getafe continued their excellent run of form by beating Espanyol 3-1 at home to record a third successive league victory.

Hernan Perez gave the visitors the lead midway through the first half but Pedro Leon struck just three minutes later to level.
