Real Madrid left-back Marcelo could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after dislocating his right shoulder, the La Liga club have confirmed.
The 27-year-old, who has become a key figure in new coach Zinedine Zidane's side, picked up the injury during Sunday's 2-1 victory at Granada.
The Brazil international could now miss the first leg of Real's Champions League last-16 tie with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on February 17.
A club statement said the defender had undergone tests on Tuesday but did not give details of how long he would be out for, stating simply that it would depend on the "evolution" of the injury.
Reports in the Spanish press, though, claim Marcelo could be sidelined for as long as three weeks.
It means Real will have to do without their influential full-back when they host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga on Saturday, as well as their trip to Rome next week.
