Giuseppe Rossi agrees switch to Celta Vigo from Fiorentina

Italy international Giuseppe Rossi has joined Celta Vigo from Fiorentina.

The former Manchester United striker returns to Spain after a spell with the Viola which was hampered by long-term knee injuries.

Rossi, who missed the 2014 World Cup due to injury, made 33 appearances in three years for the Viola and scored 16 goals.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at La Liga side Levante.

The New Jersey-born forward had a successful five-year spell in La Liga at Villarreal after leaving United, where he scored 54 goals in 136 league appearances.

Celta Vigo's next match is against Atletico Madrid on September 10th after the international break.

Rossi was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson at United in 2004 from Parma but made only five senior appearances.
