Valencia have condemned fans who threw bottles at the celebrating Barcelona players following Lionel Messi's winning penalty at the Mestalla.
Barca came from behind to win 3-2 thanks to Messi's spot-kick, but the visiting players' celebrations riled the home fans.
A plastic bottle caught Neymar in the face and also rebounded into Luis Suarez, prompting both players to go to ground and Messi to lead the protests from the visiting team.
"Valencia condemns the throwing of a bottle by a fan at a Barcelona player," the said in a statement posted via their official Twitter account after the game.
"Violent behaviour is not tolerated and the club will investigate this incident and continue with preventative work in order to avoid this kind of action."
Barcelona manager Luis Enrique was also enraged by the incident at the time and criticised the reaction of the home supporters following the game.
"It certainly isn't something that the majority of Valencia fans like to see, and me neither," he said.
"We celebrated a goal as you have to celebrate against an opponent who makes things difficult."
