Late goals from Ivan Ramis and Pedro Leon sealed a dramatic 2-1 win for Eibar and handed visitors Villarreal their first defeat of the new La Liga season.
Fran Escriba's side had looked set for a third straight domestic win when captain Bruno put them ahead from the penalty spot four minutes before half-time.
But the home side, looking to recover from five games without a win, responded in superb fashion only to be denied repeatedly by visiting goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo.
The home side finally got the leveller they deserved 10 minutes from time when defender Ramis swept home inside the box after Lejeune headed on a set-piece.
Eibar grabbed their winner in the 87th minute following a swift counter-attack, with Enrich playing in Leon to hit a right-footed shot past Asenjo.
A first defeat of the campaign meant Villarreal missed the chance to move up to third, just two points behind leaders Real Madrid.
Las Palmas staged an incredible comeback to recover from 3-0 down at the break to draw 3-3 at home to Celta Vigo.
The Canary Islanders looked dead and buried as Daniel Wass' free-kick and an Iago Aspas brace put Celta in control but the second half was a different story as Pedro Bigas cut the deficit to two.
Jonathan Viera's penalty made it 3-2 and Kevin-Prince Boateng finished off a glorious team move to level it, although Marcelo Diaz almost snatched a fourth for Celta in injury time.
Athletic Bilbao were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by struggling Osasuna on Sunday.
Athletic had 70 per cent of possession and 18 shots but ended with only Raul Garcia's goal to show for their efforts as they failed to make meaningful headway on the teams above them.
Garcia's 28th-minute effort came after Oriol Riera had given Osasuna the lead five minutes earlier at San Mames.
Espanyol secured just their second league win of the season by edging past Real Betis 1-0 and heaping the pressure on their coach Gus Poyet.
The Catalan side, whose own coach Quique Sanchez Flores is also feeling the heat, left Seville with three points to pull clear of the bottom three thanks to Diego Reyes' powerful second-half header.
