Copa del Rey round-up: Barcelona hit seven past third-tier Hercules

Barcelona thrashed third division club Hercules 7-0 to qualify for the last-16 of the Copa del Rey with an 8-1 aggregate victory on Wednesday night.

Arda Turan scored a second-half hat-trick as Luis Enrique's side dominated their opponents from start to finish at the Nou Camp.

Barca, who were without Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, opened the scoring through Lucas Digne before Ivan Rakitic added a second from the penalty spot.

Turan grabbed all three of his goals after the break, while Rafinha and Paco Alcacer also got on the scoresheet to complete a comfortable night's work for the Catalan giants.

Elsewhere, Sevilla notched nine goals against Formentera to secure a convincing 14-2 aggregate victory at the Bombonera.

Luciane Vietto and Wissam Ben Yedder both scored hat-tricks, while Gabriel Gomez grabbed a late consolation for the visitors in a 9-1 defeat.

Deportivo La Coruna overturned a 1-0 first-leg deficit to beat Real Betis 3-2 on aggregate.

Former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel was one of three different goalscorers for the hosts, while Joselu also missed a second-half penalty.

Osasuna also recovered from a first-leg defeat to advance to the next round with a 2-1 aggregate win over Granada.

Sergio Leon missed an early penalty for the hosts but it did not prove to be costly as goals from Alejandro Berenguer and Jaime Romero secured victory for the home side.

Kike netted a brace as Eibar defeated Sporting Gijon 3-1 in the north of Spain.

Ruben Sanchez scored a late consolation for the visitors but it was not enough to prevent a 5-2 aggregate defeat to the Basques.

Meanwhile, Rodrigo netted both goals for Valencia in a 2-1 win over Leganes in an all La Liga affair, with the former progressing 5-2 on aggregate.
