Relegation-threatened Deportivo La Coruna secured a crucial 1-0 win at fellow La Liga strugglers Sporting Gijon on Sunday.

Emre Colak missed from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute but Pedro Mosquera converted from a corner on the stroke of half-time to settle matters, leaving Sporting six points adrift in 19th place.

Las Palmas hammered rock-bottom Osasuna 5-2 at Estadio Gran Canaria.

Jese, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, claimed his first goal for Las Palmas in the seventh minute but a quick-fire brace from Kenan Kodro gave Osasuna the half-time lead.

Marko Livaja, an unfortunate Unai Garcia own goal and Roque Mesa ensured that was short-lived before Jese returned to round out the scoring.
