Neymar has revealed he will sign a new contract with Barcelona - and has urged the club's supporters to remain "calm".

The striker has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United since the summer, with his father claiming talks were held between the two clubs over a move for the Brazil forward.

But Neymar, who scored four goals in Barca's 5-2 win over Rayo Vallecano at the weekend, insists he wants to remain with the European champions.

Neymar scored four goals as Barcelona beat Rayo Vallecano 5-2 to move level on points with Real Madrid in La Liga.

"The renewal is underway. I have many years of contract here and I'll sign, calm," he told beIN Sports. "The fans have to be calm."

It comes after the club's director of football Roberto Fernandez said the Catalan giants are working on a deal to keep the 23-year-old for the rest of his career.

"We are currently working on Neymar's contract extension and I don't think there will be any type of problem," he told Marca newspaper.

"I have no doubt in my mind that Neymar will spend the rest of his life at Barcelona. We will reach an agreement with him sooner or later, this season if possible."
