Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has refused to answer questions over his future as his position continues to be scrutinised.

Enrique has won eight trophies during his two-and-a-half years in charge but is out of contract at the end of the season, with speculation mounting that he could leave the Nou Camp in the summer.

Barcelona are only two points off leaders Real Madrid in La Liga - though Zinedine Zidane's side have a game in hand - but have underwhelmed in a string of games this season and face competition from Jorge Sampaoli's second-placed Sevilla, as well as their fiercest rivals.

"I don't have anything to say," Enrique told reporters at a press conference ahead of Thursday's Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg with Real Sociedad when pressed on his future and whether his players wanted him to continue.

Enrique also ducked a question on whether his assistant Juan Carlos Unzue, reported by the Spanish media to be Enrique's first choice to succeed him, was ready to take the reins but did insist his relationship with his squad was as good as ever.

"This question has nothing to do with tomorrow's game," he said when grilled on Unzue's potential promotion.

"I see the same hunger and I would even say it is greater with every passing season."

Despite overseeing Barcelona's continued success on the pitch, Enrique has admitted previously he does not envisage a prolonged spell at the helm.

He said in March 2016: "I think in the modern era no one has been the Barcelona coach for 20 years; only the chosen few could handle such a long time at this club and I think it's impossible. If I could, I would only sign six-month contracts. If at some point I am not happy, why would I stay?"
