Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta says he must "evaluate a lot of different things" before deciding whether or not to renew his contract at the Nou Camp.
The Catalans have just endured a disappointing campaign that ended with manager Luis Enrique stepping down from his role to be replaced by Ernesto Valverde.
Barca beat Alaves to win the Copa del Rey on Saturday, but they also lost their La Liga title to rivals Real Madrid.
However, prior to winning the Spanish Cup final, Iniesta cast doubt over his Barcelona future by stating he did not know if he would be extending his contract in Catalonia, which expires in the summer of 2018.
Iniesta, though, has since attempted to clarify those comments by telling Spanish radio station Onda Cero: "I never said I wasn't going to renew my contract, but rather to evaluate a lot of different things.
"It isn't an economic matter. There are several factors that have joined together, personal, the moment of the season, and it hasn't been easy.
"I need to make an honest decision and one that is best for everyone."
Iniesta, 33, started just 13 league matches last season, while in total the club captain played 36 games in all competitions.
The Spaniard made his Barcelona debut in 2002 and in the intervening period has won seven league titles, five Copa del Reys and five Champions Leagues.
