Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has claimed that his team-mate Neymar will be staying with the Catalan club.

Brazilian star Neymar has been the subject of intense speculation regarding his future this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly set to make him the world's most expensive player.

And 25-year-old Neymar gave a reminder of his excellence at the weekend, scoring a pair of superb goals as Barca beat Juventus 2-1 in a pre-season friendly.

Pique then had his say on the situation, posting a picture on Twitter of himself with Neymar, which he captioned 'Se queda' ('He stays').

However, French newspaper Le Parisien reported on its website late on Sunday that the transfer of Neymar to PSG could be made official in the next few days.

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde had said on Friday: "This is a time of rumours. We understand it is how it is.

"He [Neymar] is with us right now. One of us. It's a player we love and we want. Not only football-wise, but also for the things he brings to the locker room.

"It's only rumours. There's no need to worry about something when we don't know if it's going to happen or not. If it happens in the future, we'll see. But no need to worry about it now."

Barcelona, with Neymar set to be in the line-up, play another pre-season friendly against Manchester United on Wednesday in Washington.
