Barcelona have signed Colombia international Yerry Mina from Palmeiras on a five-and-a-half year deal.
The 23-year-old centre-back, who has scored three goals in nine appearances for his national side, joins Barca in a €11.8m (£10.45m) move from the Brazilian club.
Barcelona confirmed the transfer in a statement on Thursday morning, which read: "FC Barcelona and Palmeiras have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Yerry Mina for the remainder of the season and five more until June 30, 2023.
"The cost of the transfer is 11.8 million euros and the termination clause is 100 million."
The statement added: "Yerry Mina now comes to Barca with the opportunity to continue developing as a footballer following his move to Europe.
"Without a doubt the Colombian has the potential to make it."
Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has signed Mina as defensive cover for Samuel Umtiti, Gerard Pique and Thomas Vermaelen, with Javier Mascherano strongly linked with a move away from the Nou Camp in January window.
