Gerard Pique has put pen to paper on a new four-year Barcelona contract that contains a £441m release clause.
The Catalan club are expected to officially announce the new deal in the coming days as Pique's near-10-year stint at Camp Nou is extended until 2022.
Pique joined from Manchester United in 2008, having originally left Barca's famous La Masia academy to move to Old Trafford in 2004.
He has made 360 appearances in the burgundy and blue and scored 35 goals, while establishing himself as the mainstay of Spain's national team at centre-back alongside Sergio Ramos.
He first joined Barcelona as a 10-year-old in 1997 and spent time on loan at Real Zaragoza while on the books under Sir Alex Ferguson at United.
