Cristiano Ronaldo proved he is human in Real Madrid's clash with Real Sociedad, putting a first-half penalty over the bar.
The Portuguese forward, who had scored 10 goals in the six games running up to Wednesday's clash at the Bernabeu in La Liga, went central in an attempt to beat Geronimo Rulli in the Sociedad goal, but could only find the stand behind him.
It marked the first time Ronaldo has either put a penalty over the bar for Real Madrid, where he has scored 63 in 71 attempts (88.7 per cent success rate).
But he made amends just 18 minutes later, putting another spot kick into the right corner past Rulli after Gareth Bale's cross had deflected off Yuri Berchiche's hand.
Ronaldo scored a second after the break as Real went on to win the game 3-1 to ease the pressure on manager Rafael Benitez.
