Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has been diagnosed with a knee injury, following his side's 1-0 victory over Manchester City on Wednesday.
Bale suffered the injury to his right knee during Madrid's Champions League semi-final victory over City at the Bernabeu in midweek.
"Following the tests carried out on Gareth Bale, he has been diagnosed with a joint strain in his right knee. His recovery will continue to be assessed," read a statement released on Real Madrid's website.
The Wales international is now expected to miss Madrid's match against Valencia at the Bernabeu on Sunday, which will be shown live on Sky Sports 2 HD.
Zinedine Zidane's side are third in La Liga, one point behind league leaders Barcelona, with just two games remaining in the season.
It is unclear if Bale will recover from the injury in time to face Deportivo La Coruna in Madrid's final league fixture on May 15.
However, the former Southampton and Tottenham forward is likely to be fit for the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid on May 28.
