Ronaldo still blames Cuper
Brazilian ace Ronaldo still blames Hector Cuper for his exit from Internazionale.
Ronaldo is eager to play alongside compatriot Adriano at Real Madrid, while admitting he still blames Hector Cuper for his exit from Internazionale. The Brazilian ace left the Nerazzurri in 2002 to join Real but acknowledges he still holds a great affection towards the Italian side.
He remains indebted to Inter supremo Massimo Moratti for his support during his five-year stay at Giuseppe Meazza.
But, while revealing money was a factor in his exit from the club, he also insists Argentine tactician Cuper, who was in charge from June 2001 to October 2003, helped to drive him out of Inter.
"I left Inter because, with him (Cuper), there wasn't any feeling, I couldn't work with him," Ronaldo told Corriere della Sera.
"He wasn't able to give the team a winning mentality. In time, I was confirmed right.
"I was really sorry for Massimo Moratti and the supporters but it was an obliged choice. Inter are still in my heart.
"It's true I left because Real offered me more money but with president Moratti there have never been any problems.
"I have a good relationship with him, he has been an important presence in my life.
"He did a lot to take me to Inter and I'm thankful."
Ronaldo's compatriot Adriano is the current Inter golden boy and the former Nerazzurri star would like to see the new kid on the block pitch up at El Santiago Bernabeu.
He added: "Who would I want from Inter here in Madrid? Certainly Adriano.
"He's really strong. It would be beautiful to have him here.
"Cuper never allowed us to play together and we could do a lot."
