Nakamura flattered by Atletico interest
The Spanish outfit are purported to be keen on luring the Asian ace to Vicente Calderon if Reggina are relegated from Serie A.
Nakamura only moved to Oreste Granillo last summer but has also aroused the interest of Reggina's Italian rivals Parma.
The 24-year-old refused to slam the door shut on an end-of-season transfer to Spain and admitted he was flattered by Atletico's interest.
"It's an honour knowing that a club like Atletico Madrid are looking at me," said Nakamura.
"The world says good things about that team and, for me, it would be a choice made not only for economic reasons, but for sporting aims too."
However, Nakamura's immediate priority is playing a pivotal role in Reggina's quest for top-flight survival.
Reggina hover perilously close to the drop zone and Nakamura conceded he was trying not to look too far into the future.
He added to Nikkam Sports: "Now, I just think about Reggina's salvation. This is the only aim I'm actually interested in."
