Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has revealed he rejected offers from Premier League clubs to stay at Real Sociedad this summer.

Moyes left Old Trafford in April 2014 after a testing 10 months in charge before taking over at Sociedad last November, leading them to a respectable 12th-placed finish in the league.

He was widely linked with the vacancies at West Ham and Sunderland in the press this summer, but stayed in Spain.

He told El Diario Vasco: "I am really enjoying the experience. I have a very good relationship with the club and I am very happy.

"My first experience of La Liga has been positive, the first six or seven months; my wish was to be able to complete a full season, from start to finish, like this one.

"This summer I received a lot of offers to return to the Premier League but I have decided to stay here because I believe in this project and I believe in the players we have – players who I know much better now.

"The pre-season helped me, not just to get to know what the players are about, but also to understand them on a personal level."
