Highly-rated youngster set to sign till 2013

Sebastian Giovinco is set to commit his long-term future to Juventus by signing a new deal with the Serie A giants. The diminutive forward is currently on international duty with Italy's Under 21 squad but upon his return is expected to sign an improved contract that ties him to the Bianconeri until 2013. "I'm ready to sign, I want to stay in Turin," he told Corriere dello Sport. "For a young player like myself, Juventus represent everything. "I know there has been a meeting with my agent but I don't know the details. "I can say I'm ready to sign and that from my side there aren't problems." Giovinco impressed in a year-long loan spell with Empoli last season, scoring six goals in 20 Serie A starts. And the 21-year-old has shone on his return to Juve despite them having a disappointing start to the new campaign, losing three of their opening six league games. Giovinco was handed his Juve debut against Catania before making both goals for Vincenzo Iaquinta in the 2-2 draw with BATE Borisov in the Champions League. "Playing at Juve and having Alessandro Del Piero to look up to is everyone's dream," Giovinco added. "We are going through a difficult time, that's true, but as a big club we are confident we can overcome it."
